{"id":28,"date":"2011-04-05T15:15:11","date_gmt":"2011-04-05T19:15:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/agrownupmarriage.com\/?p=28"},"modified":"2015-06-12T14:02:49","modified_gmt":"2015-06-12T18:02:49","slug":"experiences-mistakes-and-lessons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/jodymcbride.com\/agrownupmarriage.com\/experiences-mistakes-and-lessons\/","title":{"rendered":"Experiences, Mistakes and Lessons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"http:\/\/rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/cm?lt1=_blank&amp;bc1=000000&amp;IS2=1&amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;fc1=000000&amp;lc1=0000FF&amp;t=tfwd0c-20&amp;o=1&amp;p=8&amp;l=as4&amp;m=amazon&amp;f=ifr&amp;ref=ss_til&amp;asins=1590525728\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>I\u2019ve made mistakes.\u00a0 Who hasn\u2019t?\u00a0 Hopefully, I\u2019ve learned lessons from the mistakes that I\u2019ve made.\u00a0 Those mistakes and lessons are a part of <em>my experience<\/em>.\u00a0 My experience is just that, <em>my experience<\/em>.\u00a0 One of the lessons that took me a little longer to learn was that my experience doesn\u2019t equate to everyone&#8217;s experience.<\/p>\n<p>One of the more difficult lessons to learn was that there are marriages out there that include a <a href=\"..\/?p=12\">stubborn, immature, selfish jerk<\/a> who only thinks of themselves and <em>nobody<\/em> else.\u00a0 It\u2019s hard for me to understand that there are those out there that are so selfish that they don\u2019t really care about working on a mutually beneficial marriage but are content with one that solely serves their needs.\u00a0 Thankfully, here\u2019s the disclaimer, I\u2019m not married to that type of person but I really feel for those that are.<\/p>\n<p>Okay, I\u2019ve said all of that to say this: <span class=\"bluetext\">all of us have experiences that differ from one person to the next and we each give advice based on our own <em>personal<\/em> experience.\u00a0 Just because I or someone else gives advice that doesn\u2019t fit your experience it doesn\u2019t invalidate <em>your experience <\/em><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">or<\/span> <em>the advice<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"http:\/\/rcm-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/e\/cm?lt1=_blank&amp;bc1=000000&amp;IS2=1&amp;bg1=FFFFFF&amp;fc1=000000&amp;lc1=0000FF&amp;t=tfwd0c-20&amp;o=1&amp;p=8&amp;l=as4&amp;m=amazon&amp;f=ifr&amp;ref=ss_til&amp;asins=1590523172\" width=\"300\" height=\"150\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe>So, as we\u2019re discussing the issues of marriage remember this caveat, just because the advice given doesn\u2019t fit your experience doesn\u2019t mean it doesn\u2019t fit the person that is giving the advice&#8217;s experience and if it worked for them then it might work for the person to whom they are giving the advice.<\/p>\n<p>Caveat two:\u00a0 We\u2019re not going to talk about helping around the house more, perhaps as a mature adult you need to be doing that anyway, or wearing sexy lingerie, perhaps as a mature adult you should show the confidence of a mature adult.\u00a0 I consider these marriage 101 issues.\u00a0 We\u2019re looking for deeper answers to deeper questions.\u00a0 We&#8217;re looking to move from immature angst toward being and acting like mature, confident adults.\u00a0 So let\u2019s leave the milk and let\u2019s get to the meat.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve made mistakes.\u00a0 Who hasn\u2019t?\u00a0 Hopefully, I\u2019ve learned lessons from the mistakes that I\u2019ve made.\u00a0 Those mistakes and lessons are a part of my experience.\u00a0 My experience is just that, my experience.\u00a0 One of the lessons that took me a little longer to learn was that my experience doesn\u2019t equate to everyone&#8217;s experience.
